Choosing a hotel, apartment or villa online is largely a visual decision. Guests look at the location, price and reviews, but they also want to understand something photographs often struggle to show: what the place actually feels like.
How large is the room? How does the bedroom connect to the terrace? What is the view from the window? Is the pool really next to the building? What does the lobby look like when you turn around?
A 360° virtual tour gives potential guests the freedom to explore the property themselves before they book.
Photos show rooms. A virtual tour shows the space.
Professional photography remains essential for hospitality marketing. Good photographs make a property attractive and work perfectly on hotel websites, Booking.com, Airbnb, Google and social media.
Photographs, however, show selected viewpoints. A virtual tour adds spatial context.
Guests can look around the room, move between viewpoints and understand how different parts of the property relate to each other.
This can be particularly useful for villas, apartments, suites and boutique hotels where layout, views and atmosphere are an important part of the guest experience.
For someone booking accommodation from another country, this additional context can make the property much easier to understand before arrival.
One hotel can have several virtual experiences
A hotel does not need to place the entire property inside one enormous virtual tour. Different spaces can be presented separately.
- Standard rooms
- Superior rooms and suites
- Reception and lobby
- Restaurant and breakfast area
- Spa and wellness facilities
- Swimming pool
- Rooftop or terrace
- Apartments
- Villas
This structure also makes the tours easier to use in marketing.
A guest considering a particular suite can open the tour for that suite. Someone interested in the spa can explore the wellness area. A wedding or event enquiry can receive a direct link to the relevant spaces.
Particularly useful for villas and holiday homes
Large villas can be surprisingly difficult to explain with conventional photography.
A listing may contain 30 or 40 photographs and still leave a potential guest wondering how the rooms connect, where the terrace is located or how close the swimming pool is to the house.
A 360° tour allows visitors to understand the property naturally: living room to terrace, terrace to pool, bedroom to balcony, kitchen to dining area.
For premium holiday rentals, this is especially valuable because the property itself is often a major part of the reason the guest chooses to book.
Your virtual tour gets its own web page
A 360 Property tour can be published on a dedicated web page that you can share directly with potential guests.
The page can be used on:
- your hotel or villa website;
- WhatsApp and Viber enquiries;
- email enquiries;
- social media;
- direct booking conversations;
- travel agent and partner communications;
- QR codes in printed materials.
The virtual tour works directly in a web browser on desktop computers, tablets and mobile phones. Guests do not need to install an app.
It can also live on your own website
The completed virtual-tour files are included with the project.
If you already have your own website and prefer to host or integrate the tour there, the files can be supplied to your web developer.
This gives you a reusable digital asset that can continue to be used across your own website and marketing channels.
How a 360° hotel or villa shoot works
The property should be prepared in much the same way as it would be for professional interior photography.
Rooms should be cleaned and staged, curtains and blinds adjusted, unnecessary objects removed and the existing lighting prepared before the shoot begins.
We then photograph a series of 360° viewpoints throughout the selected spaces. These images are processed and assembled into an interactive virtual tour.
The finished tour is then published and tested on desktop and mobile devices.
For straightforward properties with good shooting conditions, a tour can often be completed within 24 hours.
More complex properties may require additional post-production, particularly when rooms contain a mixture of natural daylight, warm artificial lighting and cooler light sources.
How many 360° viewpoints does a property need?
There is no advantage in filling a property with unnecessary viewpoints. The objective is to make movement through the virtual tour feel natural.
A small apartment or hotel room may need only a few positions. A large villa, suite or hospitality area may require considerably more.
Our standard package includes up to 15 viewpoints for properties up to 100 m².
Larger properties, hotels with multiple room categories and projects covering several separate areas can be quoted individually.
